Trip length

From the arrival and departure dates: nights, calendar days, and Monday-to-Friday days.

Trip dates

2 nights

9 Sept 2026 to 11 Sept 2026.

3 calendar days, including both dates. 3 Monday-to-Friday days and 0 weekend days. Bank holidays are not deducted.

If both dates move one day later (2026-09-10 to 2026-09-12), the trip has 1 fewer Monday-to-Friday day and 1 weekend day. The number of nights stays the same. Bank holidays are still not deducted.

Assumptions

  • Dates are civil dates in YYYY-MM-DD. The calculation uses Hinnant ordinals, not UTC midnight.
  • Nights are the difference excluding the departure day. Calendar days include both dates.
  • Monday to Friday is not a UK working-day or bank-holiday count. Saturday and Sunday are the weekend. UK bank holidays are not recognised and are not deducted.

Questions

Are bank holidays deducted?

No. The calculator does not know the UK bank-holiday calendar, or any other country’s. Monday to Friday still counts.

What changes if the trip starts a day later?

The number of nights stays the same. Monday-to-Friday days can change because the weekend falls in a different part of the period.
